KIX launches two new calls for proposals

The Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX), a joint endeavour with Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC), has launched two new calls for proposals for applied research projects related to two priorities identified by GPE partner countries: supporting teachers and early learning.  

Call #1: Knowledge and innovation for supporting teacher professional development, agency, and well-being 

This call is seeking proposals for applied research projects to generate and mobilize evidence and strengthen the capacities of relevant stakeholders in support of contextualizing and scaling the impact of promising or proven innovative approaches to strengthen teacher professional development, agency, and well-being in GPE partner countries.  

A recent scoping study identified two interrelated sub-themes as priorities: 

  • Improving the quality and scope of teacher education and development 

  • Supporting teacher agency and well-being  

 

Selected proposals will be awarded grants between CA $300,000 – CA $2,000,000, depending on the type of grant. Full details of grant types and eligibility criteria are outlined in the call document

Call #2: Knowledge and innovation for inclusive early learning and school readiness 

This call is seeking proposals for applied research projects to generate and mobilize evidence and strengthen the capacities of relevant stakeholders in support of contextualizing and scaling the impact of innovative approaches to strengthen inclusive early learning and school readiness in GPE partner countries.  

A recent scoping study identified two interrelated sub-themes as priorities: 

  • Inclusive early learning pedagogy 

  • Foundational skills for smooth transition and school readiness 

 

Selected proposals will be awarded grants between CA $300,000 – CA $2,000,000, depending on the type of grant. Full details of grant types and eligibility criteria are outlined in the call document
