Educational equity means that the educational system gives each student what he or she needs in order to perform at an acceptable level. This means that everyone should be able to read, write and do simple arithmetic. As such, if some students need additional support to succeed, they should receive it. According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), equity in education consists of two closely intertwined dimensions (OECD, 2018).
