On 17 February 2023, members of the project team implementing the Distance Education for Quality Improvement and Access to Schooling in Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia and Tajikistan participated in a meeting between the GPE Secretariat and KIX grantees who were attending the Comparative and International Education Society Conference (CIES 2023) in Washington, DC. Project leads and researchers from various regions gave an update on their research projects, data systems and data use. At the meeting, the Project Lead Jyldyz Doolbekova, spoke about the progress of the research conducted in three countries of Central Asia - Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and Tajikistan. She shared the main findings of the qualitative phase of the research and spoke about the next stage of research, which will include a survey among school students and teachers to be carried out nationally in all three countries of the Consortium. IDRC KIX staff Tricia Wind, Hamidou Boukary, and Serhiy Kovalchuk also participated in the meeting.
The presentations were followed by discussions and exchange of views, questions and answers with members of the GPE Secretariat and meeting participants represented by the projects funded by IDRC KIX in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Europe, Asia and the Pacific.
