Enhancing Teacher Competence and Professionalism through Peer Learning: Lessons and Impact Stories from Eight KIX Africa 19 Hub Countries
Knowledge exchange lies at the core of the GPE KIX initiative, as cross-country learning connects expertise, builds knowledge, and scales innovation.
This study showcases the insights and experiences documented by country representatives who participated in the Regional Competency Enhancement Workshop held in Lusaka, Zambia, from 16-20 June 2025. Structured in three parts, part one highlights impact stories from Eritrea, Lesotho, Malawi, South Sudan, Tanzania (Zanzibar), and Uganda, examining the status of Continuous Professional Development and Teaching Councils, key lessons gained from the workshop, adaptation and implementation processes, as well as early results and future plans; part two focuses on the experiences of Ghana and Zambia as facilitating countries, showcasing their models and good practices; and the final part synthesizes overall lessons learned, offers recommendations, and draws conclusions on the effectiveness of experiential learning initiatives.
