On 30 September 30, 2020 the KIX EAP hub held a webinar that brought together 277 participants from 56 countries to discuss the methodologies and mindset of design thinking and its applicability in the education sector. This webinar was organized by NORRAG with simultaneous interpretation into Russian and Arabic. The recording of the webinar can be found here (available in English and Russian).

After brief welcome remarks and an introduction by Gita Steiner-Khamsi (Professor, Director of NORRAG and KIX EAP Hub), Margarita Lopez (Senior Program Specialist, KIX from the International Development Research Centre) presented the KIX initiative approach to scaling innovation in education.

Sina Mossayeb, a pioneer in design-thinking and chief creative officer at Aero, led an interactive webinar on what design thinking means, how to gain familiarity with the process of design-thinking and ways to explore innovation in the realms of education. In his own words,

“As educators and developers, people are the heart of it… they already know what they need… we are just facilitating it

 There was an overwhelming amount of participation from the KIX EAP region and worldwide. Throughout his presentation, Sina Mossayeb provided many great examples and stories to showcase existing and past projects and innovations.
