Regional Workshop in Ghana: Strengthening Teacher Professional Development and Management

The GPE KIX Africa 19 Hub, in collaboration with the National Teaching Council of Ghana and UNESCO IICBA, is organizing a five-day Regional Competence Enhancement Workshop on Strengthening Teacher Professional Development and Management from 10–14 November 2025 in Accra, Ghana. The workshop will bring together 40 participants from the Ministries of Education, Teacher Regulatory Authorities and Teacher Training Colleges from the Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone to strengthen teacher professional development and enhance/establish a functional teaching council. 

This exchange seeks to share knowledge, expertise, and best practices in promoting teacher professional development, enhancing/establishing functional teaching councils, share ideas and practice on teacher motivation, develop and institutionalize comprehensive social dialogue frameworks. Through benchmarking, knowledge exchange, experiential learning visits, and action planning, the workshop aims to promote sustainable teacher professional development and improved teacher management systems across the region.
