On April 29, 2021, the Global Partnership for Education Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX) COVID-19 Observatory will organize a webinar on “Education Financing, Teacher and Learner Well-being and School Reopening.” The webinar will present the Observatory’s emerging synthesis findings on COVID-19 education and policy response of 41 GPE country partners in Africa with respect to education financing, learner well-being, and school reopening. It will also be an opportunity for countries to share their latest efforts, strategies, and partnerships that address the impact of COVID-19 on these three topics.

The online event will be hosted by the consortia that manages the Observatory: Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) and the African Union’s International Centre for Girls’ and Women’s Education in Africa (AU/CIEFFA), with the technical support of the African Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC) and the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS). This webinar is the first amongst others that the Consortium will organize to disseminate the Observatory’s outputs. It will be attended by government officials and education stakeholders from GPE partner countries and international development actors.

The event will take place on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 12:00 pm (GMT). The webinar will be webcast live and simultaneous translation will be provided in English and French. Register in advance for the launch: https://afdb.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_VNcs9YZ9Ti6v-6mRU4sUjg
