From SUMMA and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), through our KIX LAC Hub, and with the support of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) and Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC), we are pleased to invite you to save the date for our upcoming webinar, which will take place as part of our Knowledge Mobilization Cycle on the use of evidence in Teacher Policies and Practices.

This event marks the beginning of a sub-cycle focused on classroom teaching and effective pedagogical practices, in response to the persistent gaps in foundational learning across the region. Given the distance that still exists between policy design and its translation into concrete practices, this space seeks to promote reflection, drawing on evidence and national experiences from KIX LAC countries, on how to strengthen teaching in diverse and challenging contexts from a regional perspective.

On Thursday, April 30 at 11:00 a.m. (AST / Eastern Caribbean Time), the webinar will focus on two key areas for improving teaching:

  • evidence on effective pedagogical practices to improve teaching and strengthen foundational learning;
  • approaches and good practices for adapting teaching to highly challenging contexts marked by diversity, inequality, crises, and emergencies.
