Virtual webinar

On 31 March 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM (CEST/Geneva), the KIX EAP hub will host a webinar on the topic of “Scaling Impact: An Introduction to Achieving Impact at Scale”. The webinar is organised by NORRAG and facilitated by John Gargani, evaluator, writer, teacher, founder and president of Gargani + Company, Inc. and Robert McLean, senior programme specialist with the Policy and Evaluation Division of Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC).

The webinar will be conducted in English with interpretation into Arabic and Russian.

About the Webinar

In this webinar, you will learn a new approach to scaling education policies and programs. Rob McLean and John Gargani will introduce their book Scaling Impact: Innovation to the Public Good, which argues for new “scaling mindset” based on their work with social innovators in the Global South.

The authors will begin the webinar by unpacking two critical concepts—impact and scaling. Then they will describe different approaches to scaling that are commonly used in education and other areas. Participants will complete a simple exercise for an educational policy, program, or innovation in their context. It will focus a group discussion and the introduction of four scaling principles that can be used to plan, manage, and evaluate scaling efforts. The workshop will serve as first step in understanding this new approach, and participants will be provided with free resources they can use to dig deeper.

Date and time:

Anyone is eligible to participate. Professionals and experts who work in, or have an interest in, international education and development are specially invited to attend the webinar. To be able to access the webinar, you need to register in advance.
