On December 18, 2020 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm GMT, the KIX Africa 21 hub will host an event on capacity building in "Integrating gender in education and strategies for inclusion (GESI) in a COVID-19 context and beyond". The conference will be moderated by Ms. Houraye Anne Mamadou, Head of the West African Office of the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE). The conference will bring together members of the hub who work in the Ministries of Education of the 21 countries of West and Central Africa and the Indian Ocean. It will also be open to civil society organizations as well as technical and financial partners. During this meeting, you will have the opportunity to share and hear successful examples of gender equality, equity and inclusion in education systems in the region. The webinar will be hosted in French.

 

The objective of this conference are:

- To share concepts related to gender in education as well as knowledge, successful innovations in terms of inclusion and equity.

- To strengthen the capacity of education actors on issues related to inclusion, equity and gender equality;

 

Expected results:

- The issues related to equity, inclusion and gender equality are understood by the education actors of the Ministries;

- Gender related concepts are shared as well as knowledge and successful innovations in terms of inclusion and equity.

Following this conference, a series of workshops will be organized on the issue of equity, inclusion and gender equality in order to deepen the concept and better understand the issues arising from it.
