The KIX Africa 21 regional hub, in collaboration with UNESCO, is pleased to invite you to take part in the Sub-regional seminar for Francophone and Lusophone countries in Africa on digital and AI competencies.

This event, co-funded by UNESCO, through the G-77 and China South-South Cooperation Fund, and by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX) Africa 21 Hub, will take place on October 28 and 29, 2024, in Dakar, Senegal, with the option to participate online via Zoom.

The event will bring together representatives from 25 French- and Portuguese-speaking African countries, Ministers of Education and international experts. The main objectives of the seminar are to: (1) facilitate the sharing of global frameworks and national examples; and (2) plan the development of national or institutional digital and AI competency frameworks in conjunction with UNESCO and the KIX Africa 21 regional hub.

The seminar will draw on the AI Competency Framework for Students and the AI Competency Framework for Teachers, which were recently published by UNESCO, as well as other key UNESCO resources, such as AI and education: guidance for policy-makers (2021), Guidance for generative AI in education and research (2023) and K-12 AI curricula: a mapping of government-endorsed AI curricula (2021).

To participate, please register using this link.

Interpretation services will be provided in English, French and Portuguese.
