The KIX Africa 19 Hub is launching a new webinar series on African teachers’ empowerment, including teacher voice, mental health and wellbeing, quality teacher education, and supportive school leadership and governance, jointly with the Africa Federation of Teaching Regulatory Authorities (AFTRA), and the UNESCO International Institute for Capacity Building in Africa (IICBA).
- The first webinar on “The influence of school leadership and governance on teachers’ mental health and wellbeing in Africa,” will be next Thursday, 6th June 2024, from 15:00-17:00 hrs(East Africa Time, UTC +3)
- The second webinar on “Quality Assurance in teacher education in sub-Saharan Africa: Enhancing the quality of teacher training programs for a competent teaching workforce in Africa,” will be on Thursday, 20th June, 2024, 15:00-17:00 hrs (East Africa Time, UTC +3)
- The third webinar on “Social Dialogues for Teachers: Amplifying the voice of the teacher to inform and achieve quality educational reforms in Africa,” will be on Thursday, 22nd August 2024, 15:00-17:00 hrs (East Africa Time, UTC +3)
The webinar series aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices among education stakeholders, including school leaders, policymakers, educators, and researchers in Africa, on the state of affairs and the drivers of ongoing reforms in teacher mental health, teacher voice, school leadership and governance for teacher wellbeing, and quality assurance mechanisms in teacher education, in order to better support in-service teachers and improve educational outcomes. The webinars will create an interactive and participatory forum where stakeholders can share experiences, learn from each other, and collaborate to drive positive change in school leadership and governance across Africa.
