Caribbean Education Innovation Forum

Teachers, principals, ministry of education leaders, and partners from the Eastern Caribbean are gathering in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in October for the 2nd Caribbean Education Innovation Forum. This event builds on the success of the first innovation forum held in Saint Lucia in 2023 and will focus on advancing inclusive and equitable education through teacher-led innovation and cross-country collaboration.

The Forum is an important knowledge mobilization activity of the GPE-KIX project called ‘Capacity Building for Gender Equity and Inclusion in Caribbean Schools’. The project is working to strengthening gender equity and inclusion in Caribbean schools through local innovations. By bringing together teachers, principals, Ministry officials, and regional stakeholders, the forum will:

  • Share new research findings on student experiences and gender norms at schools;
  • Showcase teacher-led innovations that are improving equity and inclusion in classrooms;
  • Provide focused space for teachers, principals, and Ministry officials to reflect on their roles to foster equity and innovation;
  • Build participant knowledge on social innovation methods; and,
  • Foster cross-country networks to sustain momentum beyond the forum.

A Regional Call to Action

This forum is more than a meeting; it is a platform for advocacy and action. By sharing evidence, testing solutions, and aligning strategies, participants will be shaping the future of education in the Eastern Caribbean. The focus on equity, inclusion, and innovation ensures that every student —regardless of gender, background, or circumstance has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.

The 2nd Caribbean Education Innovation Forum is funded by the Global Partnership for Education Knowledge and Innovation Exchange initiative, in collaboration with the International Development Research Centre. Additional support has been provided the Balsillie School of International Affairs, Raise Your Voice Saint Lucia and Wilfrid Laurier University.
