2nd Africa 19 Hub Knowledge Café on Education Data Systems
We are pleased to invite you to the 2nd Knowledge Café on Education Data Systems, taking place virtually on 22 July 2025 from 14:00 to 16:00 (UTC+3).
The Knowledge Café is convened by AU-IPED as part of its engagement in the KIX Africa 19 Hub, under the Global Partnership for Education's Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (GPE KIX) initiative, a joint endeavour with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada. Within this engagement, AU-IPED leads the thematic area on “Meeting the Data Challenge,” which supports AU Member States in strengthening national education data systems and promoting peer learning across countries.
This continental dialogue is a practical space for countries to share what is working and what is not, in strengthening their Education Management Information Systems (EMIS). The Knowledge Café connects EMIS policymakers and technical leads across Africa in an open exchange of experiences, ideas, and emerging strategies.
Whether your country is reviewing its EMIS policy or designing new implementation approaches, this Knowledge Café offers practical examples and regionally relevant insights that can directly inform national efforts.
This second edition will focus on “Responsive National EMIS Policies to Education Data Systems Strengthening” with presentations from:
- South Sudan, Nigeria, and Mozambique on national policy efforts
- The Gambia, showcasing its Education Data Compact
- Zizi Afrique Foundation, sharing innovations from a KIX-supported project on data use in schools
