Emmanuel Béché

Emmanuel Béché is an associate professor of sociology of educational technology at the University of Maroua and the recipient of numerous academic awards, including the ADEA Prize for the best emerging African researcher in education and the Louis D'Hainaut Prize for the best dissertation in educational technology. A Commonwealth, Erasmus Mundus, Issachar Fund, Swiss Confederation and Pilot African Postdoctoral Academy fellow, he is the first African to receive the Jacobs Foundation research fellowship. His research focuses on the appropriation of ICT by learners, highlighting the contextualized, differentiated and roundabout nature of this process.
