
Dialogue can bridge the gap between policy and research

in improving learning outcomes; lessons from the GPEKIX Africa symposium




As education systems are realizing the importance of 21st century skills (21CS) in preparing students to participate and engage with the modern world, there has been a push to introduce these skills explicitly into national curricula. This KIX EAP Learning Cycle, “Integration of 21st Century Skills in Curriculum,” was designed to guide participants in developing a context-specific strategic plan to further integrate 21CS into their education systems at large and the national curriculum of their respective countries.
This report was a course assignment for the KIX EAP Learning Cycle titled ‘Integration of 21 Century Skills in the Curriculum. The report outlines the vision and mission statements, needs analysis, in-focus skills definitions and audit, and a strategic plan developed by the team as they plan for the integration of 21st century skills (21 CS) in the curriculum of Tajikistan. The report ends with the authors’ reflections on the lessons learnt during the course.
